Kinanik 1
I'm not sure whether the application is in error or whether the user is in error. I downloaded a .pdf file, opened it in Evernote, and assigned it to a notebook. I then opened and annotated it for a bit. I saved the annotations... and then the file disappeared from the note. I did the same thing a second time as a new note, but once I saved the file after annotating... poof. I'm doing the annotation on my iPad, but the files are gone from the Mac as well. What can I do? Have I just misplaced the file? Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted April 23, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted April 23, 2014 Have a look in Evernote.com via a browser, look in the Trash notebook and check whether you have a Conflicting Changes notebook. It's possible you saved changes from one client while the note was still open and unsynced on another, or maybe that the file was saved back to another location outside Evernote. If you can't find your missing file(s) on the web client they may be gone forever - if the note still exists you may be able to recover something by looking at the note's history, but that's a premium feature - up to you whether buying a month's Prem membership is worth it to possibly get the file back. Alternatively, check your devices for the file - do a general search in case it was saved outside of Evernote. Finally - and if all that fails - raise a support request (see below) to see whether the support team have any other ideas! Good luck... Link to comment
Kinanik 1
Thank you! I had subscribed to Evernote premium, and the note history thing worked. You're a hero! Link to comment
