jay2walk 2
I recently purchased a Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition). Am unable to get an Evernote icon on the home page. Found the icon in the widgets section, but that just opens the program and then creates a link to a specific note. Can see how that would be useful, but for the moment would like the general icon that opens the program so I can view all folders. Had that ability on a previous GN 10.1 and it works that way on the phone - also a Galaxy. Maybe this is just a simple thing that I am clueless about? Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,589 Posted October 11, 2013 Level 5* Share Posted October 11, 2013 The thing that you're looking for that just opens Evernote is in the App section, on both of my devices (Motorola Droid HD MAXX and Nexu 7). Link to comment
jay2walk 2
Thanks for the reply. There is not a icon in the apps section as well. When I go to playstore it sees that Evernote is loaded and gives me a choice to Open or Uninstall. Maybe if I uninstalled it and then reinstalled an icon would show up? Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,589 Posted October 11, 2013 Level 5* Share Posted October 11, 2013 Hmmm, maybe. Probably worth a shot. If you have offline notebooks, that might also cause to to need to re-download those as well. If that fails, then you should probably open a support request. Link to comment
jay2walk 2
Found the answer - the icon is in the Apps section as one would expect. However, then need to tap the "Galaxy Plus" icon which opens up to reveal icons for five different apps that are not really related. Just thought I would get this out there in case someone else runs into this. Jay Link to comment
Moe Notes 14
Thanks for posting that answer Jay, I had the exact same problem. I even installed nova launcher to make sure I wasn't going crazy (it showed up there just fine).Love the tablet, but Samsung is kinda kooky with their software. I think they're trying to be like Apple or Google and take over your life, lol. No really. Link to comment
LesleyS 0
I have the same problem after resetting factory defaults and reloading apps in Android on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. The app icon doesnt appear in the apps tray at all, but the other Evernote icons do (Everform, Evernote Widget, etc). If I go to Google Play or Samsung Appstore and look at my apps, Evernote appears there and I can Open or uninstall. I have tried Uninstall and reload, but the Evernote icon refuses to show up anywhere. Any ideas? I created a shortcut to all Notes for my Home page as a work-around, but it's not the same thing. Thanks in advance!LesleyUPDATE: Was able to install the Evernote Widget Small 3x1 and it works fine. Repeated attempts to install the Evernote 1x1 shortcut that I had always used by dragging or just long pressing shows the icon going to the screen, but then icon disappears. ?? Linny 0
Thanks for this. I just got the Note 10.1 2014 last week and came looking for this same answer. I also played around and figured out that the "Galaxy Plus" icon in apps is just a folder and can be edited so you can move the apps out of it onto the main app screen.Go to the app screen where Galaxy Plus lives and bring up the menu.Press "Edit". Your apps screen will go into edit mode.Press the Galaxy Plus icon to bring up the contents of the Galaxy Plus folderPress and hold the icon you want to move out of the folder and drag it into the main apps screen. You can repeat this process to remove all of the apps from the Galaxy Plus folder, and then delete the folder itself by pressing and holding the folder and dragging it to the trash can at the top of the screen. You can also rename the folder if you like having all the things in there but wish it had more obvious name. Samsung also did this with all the Google apps, put them in one folder. At least that one makes sense, but I still found it annoying because I'm used to separate icons on my S3. Link to comment

threerail 0
Thank you for posting about this. It was driving me batty. My evernote icon was missing from my samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition and I found it under the Galaxy Plus icon in the Apps panel. Link to comment
shenanigansnz 0
In the wigets you'll find a widget. With the widget you can make short cut, you'll have to rename it. Just click on the three dots top right of the widget, then it's fairly easy. Link to comment
