elduko 2
Can I downgrade to version 4.x? v5.x is giving me grief with the synchronization message "Synchronization complete. Sync has failed due to unexpected problems."My web clipper is also broken:"Can not connect to server" Link to comment
jbignert 473
Hi all,We've found at least one reason for this errors. It is most likely caused by the EPM security setting that was turned ON by default in a recent IE 10 (and above) update. A temporary workaround is to manage your security setting until we have a new version of the IE Clipper that can work with the EPM mode setting enabled. This work is underway. krischatfield 0
I made the suggested change to my security setting and I'm still getting the "cannot connect to server" message. When will this be fixed? Link to comment
DeeAnAy 0
Thanks. That worked for me. Will we be informed when the new version of web clipper is installed so we can remember to turn EPM back on? Link to comment
jbignert 473
I'll post back on this thread when it has been released to the public. Hope that helps. Link to comment
Gavin0021 0
I'm having the same problem too. I have logged this issue as Ticket# 181567.I don't like the option of leaving the security at the lower level. The same issue arises in Outlook, so I presume they are linked. Link to comment
RadicalDad 2
The link jbignert supplies to the Evernote work-around is just more BS from a company that doesn't know how to test their software before release. They blame the problem on IE 10 and the automatic setting of "EPM" (Enable Protected Mode). This explanation is a total FAIL. The old version of Evernote and the clipper works just fine no matter how EPM is set. While it may be true that the new version has a problem with the EPM setting, the problem is not the EPM setting, but the way the new version interacts with it. With logic like this, one has to wonder if Evernote has a bunch of Tea Party Republicans on staff. Link to comment
techspeeder 0
Here is how I fixed this issue: http://techspeeder.com/2013/10/11/ie10-evernote-web-clipper-error-we-cannot-establish-connection-with-evernote-application/ hope this helps. Link to comment
krischatfield 0
I have tried both of these fixes and neither works. I still get the error message when I try and use webclipper. VERY frustrating as I got Evernote specifically for this feature. Link to comment
