Hmmmm I just got me a new toy,,,error I mean a new work tool an android nexus 10 tablet. My offline notebooks is grayed out, I cannot turn it on. Thoughts?

I guess you are referring to the offline notebooks option in the settings section?
I think that is a menu from a previous version. Currently, you can set offline notebooks by:
Opening Evernote -> Tap Elephant Icon in the top left -> Tap Notebooks -> The buttons in the top menu bar should change and the arrow with a line is the Offline notebooks option.
You can then set which ones you want to be offline.

Just FYI -- you may only use offline notebooks if you're a premium Evernote subscriber.
