Hi Folks!

A new beta update is ready for testing now.

NEW ACTION BAR
We've been working on tweaking the navigation on phone so we get closer to the Android guidelines.
You will notice that the action bar is now static at the top.
We also moved the sorting and filtering options to the list category.

Here are the links to download:
http://s.evernote.com/androidpreview

Please give it a try and let us know your feedback!
We want to make sure that the new experience is at least as good as the previous one and it doesn't disrupt your workflow.

Thank you.
Xavier.

IMHO the action bar does not justify the space it is taking....

Nice improvement. Only move the lightbulb (tips) to the menu and move( Add note, add picture, add sound and attach) from sidebar to actionbar. That would be much more convenient. Also make them everywhere available in the actionbar so that you add something to the notebook or tag you are viewing at the moment. The sidebar you can reserve for a tree structure like on the Mac version. Also please make the actionbar grayish instead of green.

Please please add also sorting on tags in list view.

I have a problem with that version - it crashes when I try to scroll the notes that are longer than one page. I have HTC One X+ with Android 4.1.1.

Is there any way to revert to the last prod version without deleting all my off-line notes?

Thanks all for the feedback!
Winger, I reported your issue to our QA so they can reproduce it, and we will let you know as soon as we get a bug fix.
I don't think you can revert to the market version without uninstalling and thus lose your offline notes, but I am double checking with engineering.

I installed previous version from backup but there were problems with opening the database, so I unistalled and installed from scratch again. Just to let you know, the problems with crashes disappeared.

1. Make an audio note - It appears as an icon
2. Click on it and one option is "view"
Bug That should be "listen"
3. Click "view"
Bug: Get the error from Google player "Couldn't play the track that you requested"
Update: I think that's because the audio recordings are appearing as 0 seconds...
4. Go back to list view where you see the notes with a large speaker icon painted to the right
UI oddity 1: Expect to be able to click the icon and listen: You can't

UI oddity 2: You can't open the note by clicking on the audio icon either, it's just dead space.

PS: I appreciate that you now scroll the note to show the bottom on edit!
Platform: Nexus 4; Android 4.2

It would be nice to be able to slide notes to delete them in list view (as is now supported in Google's canonical mail application on Android),

You have a panel slide for slide right, but slide-left could expose a deletion icon, then completing the slide could delete the note (with Android "note deleted (undo) button taking its place)

Unclear why the search magnifying glass moves from the top bar to the bottom when the user moves into the list view. Leave it at the top where it is in the play store? Or at the bottom the whole time?
