Update on 08/09 iPad app - appears to have created more bugs.
Doesn't seem to allow you to create, add, or change tags. Now appears to default to last used tag.
I miss the "save" feature." New enhancement doesn't always save the document.
Although there is no longer a "save" feature, sometimes it doesn't retain the new note, or there's a delay in retrieving it, so I recreate it and end up with multiple notes entries. I'm not referring to syncing between devices. It's within the same device.
I will probably change to a different type app, which disappoints me, because EN was one of my favorites. I had quit using Google Docs and reduced usage of Pages apps, but am unfortunately considering reverting back to them.
Update created more problems than solutions, or maybe it's just me.

Hi. I can't go back to my list of notebooks after this update. I think the app update created more bugs also.

Lost my note again!!! What gives? I"m going to have to start backing everything up in Pages, but if it's not fixed quickly, I'll have to discontining using EN. I rely on my notes, and it's very difficult to recreate from scratch.

Have you tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling.... As this can clear local data issues.

It's best to reboot the device after uninstalling & before reinstalling the app.

Thanks to Mike and BurgersnFries for the quick response. I'll give it a try. I'm a bit gunshy because I've lost 3 notes, but I'll back them up to a different source and see what happens. I'll post results late.
Thx

Did all of the above. Still losing notes and tags aren't working. Thx though. Very frustrating. Am going to have to find another app that will sync with my iPhone, iPad, Mac, and PC, but doubt any of them will be as full-bodied as EN. Reliability is essential for me.

Re my previous posts about disappearing notes and tags. When creating a new note, in the previous versions, there were three bars at the top - a title line, a tag line, and the format bar. With the updated version, to append or add a tag, you select the "i" (info) button in the top right side, immediately following the photos and mic icons. You'll get a drop down menu that allows you to select a tag already created or create a new one.

If you don't select a tag, it looks like the only way you can see your note is by selecting All Notes from the viewing menu, so my documents had been created, but I couldn't find them since they had no tag.

The format bar is now at the bottom.

Looks like a "duh" on my part. :)

I have to say, this change to the iPad app is really ruining my experience with Evernote. I really liked the old way I could type in keywords, with autocompletion. It was very efficient. The new method requires multiple gestures, typing to search, selecting keywords, clearing the search, etc to enter keywords. I use Evernote at every single meeting, and now my meeting start time is longer, while I 'set up' my note.

I hope others agree, and Evernote re-evaluates this decision.

thank you.
