Upcoming service update information

As part of this week’s service release maintenance window (Wednesday 11-July-2012) there will be a brief (~20 minute) service interruption while we relocate our primary user database. During this time the new users will not be able to register, the web client will be offline, and existing users will not be able to sync.

Looks like the service is down (for me at least). I almost got everything synced in time. Loos like I'll have to stay up a bit longer :)

I'm back as well. It is very cool that Evernote has a tech blog like this. I don't think I have ever seen a shard in person, but I feel like I know all about them. I kind of ignored the info-graphic (http://blog.evernote...ectural-digest/), though, and I prefer to imagine that they are kind of like pieces of the Dark Crystal http://www.youtube.c...?v=ZzgVPB5dpgg. I haven't gone so far as to imagine Dave leaping about the server room with pieces of it in hand, but given another hour, I might have. It was my REM cycle, after all :)

Would probably be a better idea then for me to subscribe to the Evernote status blog, rather than this forum, especially in daily digest form, which arrives 12 hours later and is hardly helpful.

Yeah, if you have the digest going, it'll be delayed. If I get notice sooner, I usually will have them up a little earlier though, rather than day-of. If you're on Twitter, status.evernote.com also posts updates there.
