Seems crazy that I can't find another thread about this, but on the iPhone, how do I search amongst notes only with a particular tag, rather than "all notes"?

Tap on the "Tags" button on the bottom, and enter or select the tag you want to filter on.

If I tap on Tags, then select the tag I want to filter on, it just brings up a list of all notes with that tag, but no way (that I can see) to search within them. If I then hit the Search button I'm back to "Search all notes..."

Hi. Welcome to the forums!

After you select a tag, you will be presented with the notes. When you go up to the top search bar to search through them two buttons will appear on the right next to the blue "Cancel" button. By default, it is set to "All notes," so you have to select "This tag" to narrow the search. I suppose it would make more sense in this case to have the default be "This tag."

An easier way to do this would be to just put "tag:tagname searchterm" into the search bar from the start. The advanced search operand "tag:" will narrow it down to the tag you want, and the search term that follows will look in those notes. For more on advanced searches (cool stuff), see this link.

Thanks for the informative reply. But I'm clearly missing something super-obvious here, and I apologize for taking so long to comprehend this.
When I select a tag, and are presented with the notes, I do not have a top search bar or a blue Cancel button visible. The only way I can search through them is by scrolling down. Here's a screenshot of my tag "#Wine label" (actually mostly wine reviews): http://billweaver.po...rch-within-tags

I was hoping you meant a search bar would appear at the top if I dragged the screen down, but it doesn't.

Maybe this would make sense if I was using an outdated old version of EN Mobile, but no updates are listed as available in the App Store so I assume I have the latest version.

Your second suggestion worked fine in the general Search window for tags that were a single word, but if the tag title has multipe words with spaces between them it seems the tag needs to be in inverted commas so the search engine knows where the tag ands and the search term begins. This is quite cumbersome when standing in the wine aisle looking for that recommended drop (!) so I really hope I can get the first method you refer to sorted out.

I wasn't paying attention and thought you were posting about the iPad. My bad! As far as I know, you cannot do the first option on the iPhone. Sorry :(

I suppose the easiest workaround would be to get rid of that space in your tag name (I don't have any in mine for this reason) so that you can do the search easily. Alternatively, you could use note links and browse through things / search on the page for what you want (see my site at http://www.princeton...ganization.html for details). These note links will have to be setup on your desktop, though.

The advanced search operand "tag:" does work on the iPhone as do saved searches, so you can easily get the result you want you just have to learn some syntax. :)
