I would need an applescript that would select text from the cursor leftwards until a character marker is encountered. I have the code that will process the selected text further.

However, currently I have to select the area of interest manually. I would like to automate the entire process. Suggestions?

Edit: Apparently the Evernote applescript library doesn't give access to the sub-selection within the text. I was able to execute the desired action through System Events.
