Yesterday, while traveling on Amtrak, I created a note. I did this twice. As far as I can tell, I created it properly and saved it. In the second instance, I even closed Evernote and restarted it, and the new note was still there. Yet when I opened Evernote on my iPad this morning, the note was gone. What can be causing this odd behavior, and should I be doing something different?

Hello. Welcome to the forums!

Assuming that you are a free member, what probably happened is that the note synced with the Evernote servers and was removed from your device in the process. You should be able to see the ti-tle, but not the content. If you log into your account at evernote.com, you ought to be able to view the note. If you want to view notes on your iPad when you are offline, you will need to become a premium member, and designate the notebook holding the notes as one for use offline.

Note content caching does occur on mobile devices, but is not guaranteed unless you are using offline folders, which are available only to premium users.

Note that if you're connected to the internet, you shouldn't need to go to the web client at evernote.com to see your notes; they should be available to you directly on your device.
