I messaged you as well Karolyn directly. Hopefully I can still make the cut. I couldn't reply earlier due to different time zones.
Cheers,

Update- we have a beta build that is in testing. The build contains a fix for the text control issue that was introduced with the OS 2.0 update.

As soon as the build is validated - we will be pushing it to the App World. It generally takes 1 week or so to become available once we have submitted the build. We will post back to this thread to let you know when it is live.

Please message me directly if you would be interested in helping us beta test this fix. In order to beta test, you will need to be able to load .bar files onto your PlayBook. We're looking to test on OS 2.0 as well as on the OS 2.1 Beta if anyone has already upgraded.

Thanks for everyone's help and patience as we close out this text control issue-

Karolyn

Hi Karolyn,

I'm also interested in being a beta tester, I'm currently using OS 2.1.

Thanks,

Esteban

How about a report from anyone who has installed the beta.

I sideloaded and it worked perfectly with predictive text. Checkboxes can't be checked off, but I couldn't find any bugs with my brief tests. Still behind the android version in features(minus predictive text) but very usable.

If any specific questions, I will check it out for you.

I don't work for Evernote, I just have to make sure, as if you couldn't tell.

Thanks, I got a PM, but haven't seen the bar yet. Currently using the sideloaded android version.

Well, this is good news indeed.

As I understand it, this is an Android file converted to BAR format, so I am a little disappointed to hear that the features are still behind the latest Android offering.

Can anyone confirm that it's at least ahead of the last QNX version - apart from the fact that the predictive keyboard actually works?

As far as I'm aware, the predictive fix is the *only* change and now new features have been added.

You've got to be kidding. If it's an Android port, it won't even have access to the camera until at least the OS 2.1 release date. Five months and that's what we're to be content with?

You could download an Android 4.0 BAR file and accomplish the same bloody thing!

Am I missing something??

I've tryed the beta and i don't think is a android port. The predictive text problem is fixed, the camera works but there isn't new features. However there is a problem with the text scrolling that evernote is checking.
Using evernote on: blackberry playbook, chrome, web, vista, win 7

Hello All,

Answers to a few of the previous questions/comments:

The app is not a port of our Android code.

Yes, this build only contains a bug fix for predictive text issue. We have swapped the text control in order to support OS 2.
The only side effect of the text control switch is that notes with existing checkboxes will not be editable.

Thanks for everyone's help testing the beta .bar. I'll post when we've published the app to BlackBerry App World.

Thx,

Karolyn

what I don't get is why don't you work in porting the apk android version to playbook?
I've use the 4.0 beta bar file posted in the forum (which was a repack version of the android app) and it worked like a charm.
Now I've tried to repack the latest apk file downloaded from google play and the online BB packer says the app is not compatible with my BlackBerry® Runtime for Android™ Apps: Impact Type Reason 3 uses-permission com.android.vending.BILLING 3 uses-package com.google.android.maps 5 uses-intent-categ android.intent.category.HOME

The native BB Playbook Evernote app sucks beyong limit compared to the android app, which btw works if you repack it. Now in OS 2.1 beta the device camera is available to the android runtime, which the android proted app could take advantage of.

This is actually a possibility for when 2.1 is released, but while it is still in beta, we cannot consider releasing it (as the majority of Playbook users are on 2.0, and the Android version will crash when they attempt to use the camera.)

I see... so you promise to release the android version when OS 2.1 is released?
until then could you provide us beta testers a .bar file of the latest android version? using evernote is one of the reasons I use this tablet.
thank for the quick reply!
