is there a way I can have the notes shown only by title without the other three lines of text? I have a lot of notes and each one taking an inch of screen makes navigation rather tedious. Thanks in advance.

Use List View (View / List View) ==> one line per note.
For extra credit, use the secret registry setting to allow you to use list view in the same panel as Snippet view and Thumbnail view (rather than above the note panel):
In the registry key HKCU\Software\Evernote\Evernote, create a DWORD entry named "VerticalListView", and give it the value 1. You'll need to restart Evernote to make this work (File / Exit).

Thanks very much for your prompt response. I'm afriad I'm an old geezer and scared stiff of the registry. I shall therefore seek instruction from the Windows 7 forum on how to achieve what you have suggested. it sounds exactly as what I want/need. Thanks again.

Print A List Of The Note Titles
Run the search
Select all the notes (Ctrl + A)
Right click and "Copy note links"
Paste into a new Evernote note. You now have a list of all note titles, you can jump to a note in question just by clicking on that note.
I keep a "Note Index" in my Favorites Bar.
Best of luck and welcome to the Forums
