Either I'm completely blind and stupid or Evernote doesn't do what I want - and what I installed it for.

It's very simple.

I have a 2g iPhone with rather a lot of notes on it and having lost them once during a sync I want to safeguard them by exporting and synching them with Evernote on my PC.

I thought Evernote could do that but as far as I can see it only works for notes written in Evernote itself, not native iPhone notes. I'm not about to copy and paste all my notes into Evernote, I could do that by emailing them.

Am I missing something ?

Correct. Evernote is a multi-platform cloud app focused on creating/organizing & retrieving notes from a variety of sources. It's not a sychronization/backup program.
I'm not affiliated with Evernote. Evernote is an integral part of my life.
