Evernote forum does not consider my settings (GMT -3) and the time of messages seems to be one hour ahead (GMT -2); it's just annoying, but can be fixed ?

Probably Mountain View California time. If they "fixed" your time, then what about us? You'd post at 4:25 today and someone else posting at the same time would post at 4:00 in the morning yesterday if they were elsewhere in the world. I think it is pretty common to have a shared "server time" on forums.

Pacific Time is GMT-8, so that can't be it.

mdalves, are you sure you don't live in the middle of the Atlantic?

EDIT: For what it's worth, my time is correct, even though I live in GMT-5, in a country that doesn't observe Daylight Savings Time. Even when the U.S. went on DST a couple weeks ago, my time remained the same, correctly.

I have never seen a shared server time on this forum.
If the server does share time, then what is the point of a user location time zone setting?

I live quite near the Atlantic, very nice beaches here, but not exactly in the middle of the ocean. :D

By shared server time, I mean that we all share it, right? I mean, if I post now at 17:30, it won't show up at 17:30, but at whatever time the server is working off of. In other words, you may live in one time zone, but we all share the same time zone when posting.

I'm on PDT and when I'm logged in JB's post time shows as 09:39. That is time corrected from his location in CDT (11:39)...good so far. But when I'm logged out it shows as 04:39. Customer service used to be on a houseboat (true). Maybe they pulled anchor and are cruising around the IDL with a time server and too much rum!

Since we'll eventually be a pretty international community, I left the default time at GMT.

You can change your native timezone in your individual User Control Panel, however. FYI, while rummaging around in the settings, it sounded like you may need to do the Daylight Savings Time yourself--dunno though :)

Geoff what's the basis for the time that's shown when a user isn't logged in (like in my post above...0439 vs 0939)? It doesn't appear to relate to GMT.

mdalves, is your new photo an attempt to convince the forum gods that you really do live on the beach, and not in the ocean?

Actually reading your OP, it may be that the hour difference (-3 v -2 GMT) is being caused by daylight savings change. Here's the suggestive text in our settings: If you have chosen the correct timezone and the clock is an hour out, this is because of daylight savings time and your members can correct this by editing their 'Board settings' via their User Control Panel.

Geoff what's the basis for the time that's shown when a user isn't logged in (like in my post above...0439 vs 0939)? It doesn't appear to relate to GMT.

Honestly, I'm baffled. When we change versions I may take an additional look at this, but there's only one major time setting that I can adjust, and that's native server timezone, which is set to GMT. Rest is up to yall.
