Hi all,
just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to save a skitch drawing in a native file format, such that I can re-open it later and interact with the elements that have already been drawn?

I know, of course, that I can save it to a PNG file.. which "flatens" the image to a single layer, but I'd like the ability to move and zoom image elements (and layered elements) at some stage down the track and then re-export a PNG for use in other applications.

Thanks in advance!

There's no current mechanism for this. Can I ask what other applications you're wanting to move your image/drawing to, and for what reason?

Thanks!

Hey klang, thanks for the quick response...
my main desire is to re-open the file within Skitch and still be able to select individual strokes, resize them, move them, etc without and flatening or "rasterisation" of the image.
This allows me to do something like draw a flow chart, socialise it, and then modify it in a week's time by just changing a couple of lines/words/etc.

I have exactly the same question. It's a good app but for me rather useless when I can't open it afterwards and edit the seperate pieces of the sketch. If this would be possible the app would be fantastic. the way it is now I'm not able to use it.

Missing this feature is actually the most important reason for me (almost) not using Skitch... In other words: I really miss this feature! It would be great if I can 'save' a drawing into Evernote and have the ability to edit this drawing later on.

I also am looking for this functionality! I just created a map of the a scenario I'm writing about and finished it only to find out that all I can do is share it as a static file and I won't be able to make future edits. Skitch is incredibly intuitive to use, please add the ability to save files and edit them later soon!

Thanks, -Matt

I'd like to add another voice to this - I was looking for a tool to sync hand-written notes and annotations between all my devices, and Skitch looked like it ... until I realised it only saved raster images to Evernote. This is a must-have feature for me to use it.

Just tried to do exactly this - open note (originated in Skitch) in Skitch. Very surprised that this is not possible. Raises questions about the level of integration between the apps. Please fix asap.

I definitely can't do without this too.
I had created a new skitch added it to evernote only to find later that it was too small an image because I had zoomed it. And I didn't have option to re-edit it via skitch again.
Moved to Sketchbook Mobile for now because of this limitation.

And also is there an eraser tool? Miss that too.
