Possible to have screenshots added inline instead of as a new note?

Let's say you're using the Kindle for Windows app to read & highlight a book and Evernote for Windows to take notes.
Later, when reviewing the book notes it would be awesome to read the referenced and highlighted passages inline rather than flipping between the pages of the book and the Evernote notes.

This is doable in Microsoft OneNote as it pastes screenshots inline with the currently active note (and allows inline inking which is another topic). Here's what it looks like:

Obviously I can continue to use OneNote in this fashion but would love to get this last piece of my workflow into Evernote.

So... long question longer... Is there some way to tell Evernote for Windows to paste screenshots inline? Thanks.

Not at this time, as far as I know.

There are a number of screen capture apps available that you could use as a work-around:
  • Activate screen capture and select area to copy (this puts image on clipboard)
  • ALT+TAB to Evernote Note that is already open in its own window
  • CTRL+V to paste image inline to your EN Note
I've used this technique in the past. After you get the rhythm of it, it goes very fast

Or (depending on your browser-of-choice) there are add-ins like FF's Fireshot that will allow you to capture a page (or a selection) as a PDF - you can then annotate the PDF...

-And Adobe (and others) will download a page and -within limits- its links to a PDF for similar annotation.

It's funny the hoops Evernote users, myself included, will go through to get a seemingly simple feature to work. I guess that's the cost of multiplatform feature parity.
I've decided to keep using OneNote for this book reading process. The workflow is so frictionless I can't give it up.
But, after testing extensively last night, I've found the import function in Evernote works great to import the finished notes.

I think that the key word is 'seemingly'. Maybe it's simple, maybe it's not. maybe Evernote is interested in providing it, maybe soon, maybe not. But it doesn't exist currently in Evernote (for whatever reason; it may not be because of the multi-platfom feature parity thingie), so guess what? If you want that functionality, you need to use a workaround. Just a fact of (Evernote) life.

My point exactly.
The same goes for OneNote life. In this case you could say I'm using Evernote as a workaround for the lack of cross-platform compatibility in OneNote because OneNote's android app can't display inking. Personally I'll use whatever tool allows me to get things done with the least amount of friction. For now, that's Evernote and OneNote. :)

Personally, I think workarounds are a fact of life for anyone who uses a computer very much. (Actually, I think it's a part of life, period.) Many times, apps will not work 100% the way you would like for them to. You figure out a workflow that best suits your life & the functionality you require. I tend to not dog on Evernote very much b/c they already get so much of that from other users. :) Do I have problems/issues with Evernote? Sure. I've posted about them here & there. But for me, none of these are deal breakers b/c IMO, EN is such a great app. So am I willing to put up with these inconveniences? Absolutely.
I'm not affiliated with Evernote. However, my Evernote sings & is an integral part of my life.

100% Agree. Sometimes, however, I find myself using a workaround when the real problem is that I don't know how to correctly use the tool.
Hence the reason for the question that started this thread. :)

Good point! Especially with Evernote, since the documentation is either missing quite a bit, is hard to find/understand, or there are undocumented differences in how the feature works with the various EN clients. Plus, there is always a good chance that someone has figured out the best way to do it in EN, or a work-around, or a 3rd party tool that gets the job done.
