Our development cycles on the Android platform are much shorter due to Apple's lengthy submission process. Therefore, for timing purposes, an iOS version of a product may come out before the Android one, but once the Android version is out, it will receive much more frequent updates.
And have you tried our latest versions of Evernote for Android? (current release, and the beta). There's a lot of users who wouldn't want to switch from that to another platform's version.

Heather - I have updated to the latest version of Evernote on my android. I have just this evening installed Evernote on my wife's iPhone and it certainly seems at least on a par with the android version, however it does support the installation of Evernote Food and given the fact that Android users have been waiting from at least 2010 for an Android version. Updates may appear faster on the Android platform as you say but given the fact that 2 years later Android users are still waiting for the Evernote Food App the speed of updates is irrelevant as you can't update something that doesn't exist and as an Android user for quite few years now it is a fact that Android falls way behind with regard to the launch and release of apps in comparison to IOS platform.
I would love it to be different as I would much prefer to use something as opposed to Apple but as it is at present that does not seem to exist and it most certainly is not by any stretch of the imagination being delivered by Google and Android, which is a shame.

Considering we didn't release the iOS version till December, 2011, that's very prescient of them.

1 I am unsure if all those on this site claiming to be Evernote employees actually do work for the company or are just Evernote groupies,
2 In every company/organisation there is always going to the 'One' who slips through the net. The person who can talk the talk about delivering excellence in Customer Service but who cannot walk the walk. With that in mind and my own experience as a Customer Service Professional, Training Provider, Accredited Assessor and Customer Service Manager, I am happy and content to allow Evernote this one that 'Got Away' and having read other comments and responses from others stating that they are Evernote employees who do present a very positive image for the company. Perhaps a moments thought as to the best way to respond to a customer who is mistaken on a point concerning your product and or service would have been to explain that a product/service that a customer was enquiring about was not actually released on any platform during the time frame mentioned by the customer and to further explain that the product/service was only released on whatever date was applicable and then to provide any information that may be available as to when when the product/service is likely to be available to the customer. Even if that information is to tell the customer that there is no definite timescale available for the product/service to be released, then at least the customer will have had an honest response/opinion and whilst this may not be the news the customer wants to hear at least the customer will not be left with a bad taste in his/her mouth as a result of the attitude of a customer service agent. Despite all this I do still contend that Evernote is by far one of the best apps available no matter which platform it is being used on. It would be nice if the various options available, in this instance Evernote Food were to be released across all platform at the same time or at least within one month. I would also point out that the base of the complaints/criticisms I have raised here are fairly and squarely aimed and directed at Android/Google who would appear to make it difficult for app developers to have their made available to android users for whatever reasons. As someone who has been a very ardent and vocal supporter of the Android OS until recently, I can no longer sit back and see other platforms getting the lions share of app development while android users would appear to be left to hopefully pick up the scraps after others have enjoyed the main course. As I have said Evernote is one of the best apps available, I use it everyday and will continue to do so but it will in the next few months be moving from the android platform to IOS platform. As it would appear that I have been mistaken in my dates and timescales I humbly apologise for this error which appears to have touched a very raw nerve with Heather.

People like Heather with the green Evernote badges, and belonging to the group Evernote Employees are indeed Evernote employees.
People like me with the gray Evernote badges and belonging to the group Evernote Evangelist are not employees, though we are moderators here.
Other folks, the Members, are Evernote users (or would-be)

As far as the rest, Evernote has been pretty open about their strategies, in terms of their release approaches. The teams release when their products are ready, rather than artificially delaying for the sake of coordinated releases across the varied platforms. If you think that the main Android Evernote app is just "getting scraps", I think you'd be mistaken. Food is a different app, developed by a different team, on iOS originally, and as far as we know, will be coming to Android eventually.

I was merely trying to attempt to clear up a major point of misinformation at the source, as this sort of thing can spread like wildfire.
