On my mobile device (iPad) I can't edit my Hello notes.

On my computer (Mac) it just tells me "This note was created in Evernote Hello. To edit this note, open it in the app on your mobile device."

On Evernote Web it tells me the same thing as my Mac.

So, what do I do?

Per the Evernote blog:

"For the time being, the notes created by Evernote Hello are read-only inside of Evernote. If you want to make changes, view the encounters and people from Evernote Hello."

I didn't catch that. I got the impression from someone's post in this forum (I forgot who just now) that I could go in there from Evernote and associate other notes with it, but since it is read only, I guess not.

I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with this contact if I can only do things to it in Hello, where none of my other notes are. Any ideas on how to use this?

I'll go and read the blog and see if I can figure out something. As long as it is read only, though, it seems kind of limited

In future versions of Hello, your encounters will be able to be enhanced by things such as tags, but right now they're just by time.

And, in Evernote, you can add tags to Hello notes, and change their notebooks, so, I'd suggest you start tagging your Hello notes and your Evernote Notes that should be grouped together. Then, they'll be all in the same place in Evernote, and soon in Hello as well.

The only notes that are read-only in Evernote are the Hello notes, and that's because their information is formatted in a way that Evernote cannot yet parse. Maybe in a future version of Evernote

I'd agree with earlier comments. Good example from yesterday... met a prospect, had a meeting and a few beers, added an 'Encounter' in hello. Got into the office today and want to add some notes on that encounter. The only way I can do that is typing on my iphone... I'm at my desk, why would I do that when I have a keyboard? So, I can type notes, email them to myself, copy and paste them into Hello, then I'm good, I suppose.
It would be great to have the functionality availalbe to:
1.) Edit existing Hello notes from a desktop app (mac AND pc); and
2.) Abiltiy to create new Hello notes from within the Evernote pc or mac application, add a location, etc.

Yep. All valid use cases. We are working with the desktop teams to plan this out. The key will be to add Hello and Food functionality without complicating the desktop experience. The last thing we want is function bloat a la Microsoft Word or Outlook.

Hello,

You can merge two notes in to one. And this option helps me to solve this problem: i enter encounter on my android phone, and merging this note to another one with comments and additional information about this person on evernote (mac). After this note will become editable.
Shure you will not be able access this contact on hello after you do this, but you can use "copy to notebook" option to copy your hello note to a different notebook and save your contact for future use on hello.

To test drive the app (Android) with the most important contact in my life, i used my wife's contact info to create a new Hello note. Good thing its private though, I'd hate for people to think she is Mrs MyD0j0 after only having meet her yesterday.

What about creating notes for existing contacts, friends and other people in your life? Isn't it faster just to uploading a snapshot of a business card into a normal note that allows me to edit details about the encounter?
Let's say i get a new contact's vcard in a mail message or its Bumped to me, but i can't create the actual encounter until the weekend. Since there are a lot of memorable events I'd like to create for people i already know, will a future release allow date/time/location to be edited?

Please give the latest Android client a try. We've listened to all your requests and have added the ability to edit date / time and location. Many of your other suggestions are on the roadmap as well. Please keep the feedback and suggestions coming.

Any closer to editing Hello notes? 

 

Also, one thing I still have a hard time quite grasping is where Hello will sit in my relationship management. I get the "trade show" use case. But where will Hello sit in the whole CRM landscape? It is clear that Hello is not meant as a replacement (Although with reminders, one could argue the Hello would make a very good CRM Lite tool). If I can't link the notes into a CRM and I can't edit the notes I am creating, then what do I do with this info? I'm not nay-saying Hello. On the contrary, I have high hopes for the application.

 

I know how I *want* to use it, but without tags or edits or synchronization or note-linking or reminders, all I am doing is taking the time to create information about my contacts that can't be edited and can't be used in any other CRM.

 

What am I missing?
