- Sync seems consideraly faster than previous versions. Both during the inital sync when opening the app and when opening a note for the first time, even notes in rich text.
- Really quick when using wireless connection.
- Freezing problem when trying to load a new note as soon as you open the app has been fixed.
- Ability to see percentages when syncing is nice and helps set expectations around how long it will take.
- Some cosmetic things. I'm using the 9800 version, the actual evernote icon is larger than all the others which makes it look a little untidy, the original login page the username and password font size doesn't fit in the text field properly.
- Liking the changes made to the 'append' option, where you can now see the rest of the note eventhough you can't edit it.
- No considerable difference when swapping between Thumbnail and List view. Was hoping list view would make better use of available real estate by displaying more note subjects. ( while I believe some people would prefer larger font, I'd prefer smaller Less scrolling )
If I think of more I'll update this post.

* When I close a note now, there is no stopwatch... it just closes, like it ought to.
* Opening notes is faster, still slow, but pretty usable on this old 9700/OS6 device.
* I like the new icons better on the home screen, but it is still a very subtle difference between a selected icon and an unselected icon. Maybe choose a different color rather than a different shade of green, or darker shadow to indicate this?
* Syncing is faster
* Reopening an existing note is faster.
* I like the addition of the Add tags button.
* HOWEVER, if I enter the add tags button, and try to move to the next button (notebook selection) I seem to get caught in the tags field, and can't escape without 'mousing' down, then back up.
* When I have a note open, there is adit button at the top of the screen, but not duplicated in the menu. I'd just as soon have it only on the menu.
All in all, this is a VAST improvement. Good job!

But, a couple of questions on offline note access:
- I presume that the asterisk displayed on a note in list/thumbnail view indicates that it is available to read offline?
- How can I make sure that a note I've viewed, so it is available offline, remains available, and does not get removed from the cache?
- How can I 'download' a batch of notes, or a whole notebook of notes, for offline use, without opening every note individually?

@Jamie, the asterisk means that the note is stored in the cache and availiable for offline viewing. For now, we don't have a way to download a batch of notes (or notebook). I will add it as a feature request.
Thanks

Many thanks. Do you know what - if anything - would result in a cached note from being removed from the cache? I just want to ensure that I have access to certain notes when travelling, and don't want them disappearing on me...

An update that allows offline viewing with a 'pinning' option, so that notes never lose offline access, would be fantastic!

can you tell me what it happen that notes get removed? Do you have some steps? Is it specific to certain kind of note? Or, do you "edit" the note? If you can send us feedback log next time when you see the issue, that would be great. I did check your issue last couple days but I am not seeing the issue.
Thanks

"Looks like you are offline. Other notes you have recently opened on your phone may still be available offline."
Is this expected behavior? I assume it is since the message was obviously prepared for such an event. Did I miss this in an earlier update post? Seems to me syncing should be all notes not just the ones I open. I'd hate to have to open all my notes online to cache them.

Thanks for your reply. I can't sent my feedback log right now as don't have data access on my BlackBerry - am currently travelling overseas. A few points I've noticed though:
- Before I left the UK I opened a whole batch of notes (in fact all the notes in one notebook) in order to cache them to give me offline access
- Now I'm without a data connection I've discovered the following problems in accessing them:
1. Using 'search' I can locate the notebook I cached. However the app won't let me open the notebook from the search results giving me the error message "please check your network and try again" - this is frustrating! I then tried to locate the cached notes by searching for them individually. However this gives me the same error message - even though I know that these notes are cached - or at the very least, if the app has lost the cached notes, it should be able to search the synced headers. But it seems not.
2. So, the only way to locate my cached notes is to scroll though my entire notes list! In doing this, and trying to open these notes, I've discovered:
a) Some notes that I cached and that are marked with "(*)" to indicate that they are cached, will not actually open. When I try to do so, I get the error message "Looks like you are offline..." Frustrating!
c) I can't see any logic as to which of these 'cached' notes open and which won't. i.e. some with attachments will open and some won't; some that are just plain text will open and some won't.
So, all in all the experience is highly inconsistent and thus frustrating. Hope that this helps in getting to the bottom of the issues... Thanks!

yes. for now, you have to open the note in order to cache the whole note.
@Jamie,
Sorry to hear your problem, I wonder if you can send me some of the notes which do not "cached". One possible is that the note is not fully downloaded when opening, but we still need to check. Another is that EN doesn't support offline search, and so it won't return the notes from the notebook list. We will have a new version to open notes from selected notebook very soon. So, it will solve the search issue.
Thanks

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
Here is what I want to do for a few reported issues:
- No considerable difference when swapping between Thumbnail and List view. Was hoping list view would make better use of available real estate by displaying more note subjects. ( while I believe some people would prefer larger font, I'd prefer smaller Less scrolling )
we will display list view items on 2 lines only.
* I like the new icons better on the home screen, but it is still a very subtle difference between a selected icon and an unselected icon. Maybe choose a different color rather than a different shade of green, or darker shadow to indicate this?
we will darken the background to increase the contrast.
* HOWEVER, if I enter the add tags button, and try to move to the next button (notebook selection) I seem to get caught in the tags field, and can't escape without 'mousing' down, then back up.
I don't like it too. I would like to fix it asap and make the textfield content not selectable when mousing.

In complement to Ah_Fan answer:
This should be a part of another feature called "offline search" which is not implemented yet.
With the new version, you should be able to select the notebook you cached from all note list (new notebook selector).
Some notes that I cached do open
That's a bug, we'll investigate that. Thanks for reporting.
c) I can't see any logic as to which of these 'cached' notes open and which won't. i.e. some with attachments will open and some won't; some that are just plain text will open and some won't.

I don't think this is related to the last update, but if anybody else experienced similar issue please let us know and we will investigate further.
