I use Peek on my I Pad 2 with no problems except with the notebooks that have sound files. My device produces sound in every other app but not in Peek. Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

Hi Roaltol,

There is a known issue about audio not playing back immediately after downloading an audio notebook. When this issue was reported, closing the audio notebook and opening it again would make the audio play. The audio file was large, several mb in size.

Some questions to help us debug:
Does the page turn sound play when you change pages on any non-audio notebook?
Does audio play on the "french words" notebook?
Are you on iOS5 or 4?
If you long-press a notebook and then tap "redownload", does audio play after that?

My iOS is 4.3
There is no sound when turning pages. I went to the settings button in Peek and the sound is 'on'
I have re downloaded Spanish Words but there is no sound. I cannot find French Words perhaps it is no longer offered.

I have tried all your suggestions.

In this blog, they are reporting that the mute switch didn't cause Apple apps to mute their sound but on other apps it did. Is this your case?

I am thinking on other possibilities too - the strange thing is that the page turn sound doesn't work, which is fairly standard and simple code (there are more variables on the actual audio note playback).

Hi Juan
You are a techno hero! I reset all the I pad settings and for the first time I heard sound in Peek. I have also acquired "French Words". I have no idea what setting was blocking this App. I have always set the side switch so that the screen will rotate. I will be sure to check Peek if I need to change any settings in future. Thanks again.
