I got a message today that Evernote wanted to upgrade itself from 4.3.1 to 4.4.1. I said yes, and it downloaded the new version. Then I got a message that it wanted to install. I said yes. Got the administrator popup, said yes to that, and it then said it had to uninstall the prior version. AGain I said yes.

The next message was "Windows Installer: Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel". I'm on Windows 7, so it's not called Add/Remove Programs, but instead "Programs and Features". Anyway.

From there, I tried to uninstall Evernote 4.3.1 and got the following message:

"Windows Installer: The installed product does not match the installation source(s). Until a matching source is provided or the installed product and source is synchronized, this action can not be performed. Contact your administrator or product vendor for assistance. If there is a matching installation source, type it below or click Browse to locate it."

I was not able to locate any "Evernote.msi" file that would make this uninstall work.

Ideas? Thoughts? Anyone else had this problem before?

I know it's strange to reply to one's own post. But Help->About in the currently installed Evernote is NOT 4.3.1, it's 4.4.0.4848(154247) Public. Interesting.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

In the "Programs and Features" control panel, if you right-click on any column header and select "More..." and then check Version check box and press OK, it should add the version column to the control panel. What is the Evernote version that is shown there?

Name says Evernote v. 4.3.1, but Version says 4.4.0.4848. Hmm...maybe a reboot? I will try that.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience. I would try re-installing the 4.4.0.4848 version first. You can download that version here: http://evernote.s3.a..._4.4.0.4848.exe

If that version re-installs successfully, then you could upgrade to 4.4.1.
