This isn't specific to this build, but this is the buuild I happen to have right now. My laptop isn't a speed demon, but it isn't too much of a slouch either, but EN runs very slowly. I'm not talking searches, i'm just talking in reaction time of the UI. Changing from Notes list view to mixed view for example, can take up to 20 seconds or more with massive amounts of hard disk activity.
Another example, I type in a search and the search reacts to the first few typed characters and then the interface freezes until the first pass of the search takes place. I can't type in the rest of the search clue until the UI comes back to life.
Wondering if this is something unique to me and my setup or a known issue and something that can be addressed?

We've seen something like that on a 64-bit Windows 7 ThinkPad laptop with initial down sync locking up EN4 UI for tens of seconds. Do you by any chance use SSD drive?

No, plain old disk drives.

Would it be possible to run DbgView (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96647.aspx) and capture debugging output for the typical routine (start application, perform a few searches, sync) with EN4 build after rev 98998 ?

Also, it would be great if you could run ProcDump utility (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96900.aspx) with the following parameters before executing Evernote:
procdump -h Evernote.exe ENMini.dmp
... this would create mini dump file ENMini.dmp when Evernote process hangs (i.e. does not respond for 5 seconds). Please attach this .dmp file to a bug report created at http://s.evernote.com/win4bug
Thank you for your help!

What options do you want turned in the dbgview.exe application?

DbgView does not need any option, just run it before running Evernote, then File/Save As what it captures into a file and attach it to the bug report.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Done, new issue 125651 raised with both logs attached.
I then got an automated email asking me to copy the activity log out of EN and reply to the email, i did that also.
Logs came from build 99008 by the way.

Unfortunately mini dump does not have enough info to pinpoint the issue. Would it be possible to create full dump using the following command?
procdump -h -ma Evernote.exe ENFull.dmp
The resulting dump file may be quite large, so please zip it and send using http://drop.io
Thank you!
